About Me
I’m an Aerospace engineering student at UNSW with a passion for all things space and aviation. I have a wide variety of work and volunteer experiences in different sectors and strong record of consistent effort and achievement.
Currently looking for a summer (2023/24) or part-time internship in aerospace/mechanical/structures/fluid engineering!

🎓 Education
First Place Design Presentation
I teamed up with Siena Seeto, Sergio Bao Hou, Anshul Nihar Trivedi, Noah Mourgues, and Haolin Tian to look at one of the biggest issues facing residents in Australia today: flooding. Our team, AquAlert, designed a self-powered flood monitoring device to be installed in rivers around the country. As a concept, this would provide data to the Bureau of Meteorology and allow for accurate and real-time flood monitoring. Our team was invited to present our project at the DESN2000 showcase (a course taken by most 2nd year engineering students) where we received first place!
Aerospace Structures
This course covered the structural analysis of aircraft and involved a major project where groups analysed a plane of choice. My group analysed a Cessna 210, where part of my analysis of bending stress and shear flow in the wings is shown below. I recieved an individual mark of 95 for this course which I am very proud of, as I found the course both challenging and rewarding.
Bankstown Flight Experiments
As part of a Flight Performance and Propulsion course, flight experiments were conducted out of Bankstown Airport. These experiments involved analysing the performance of Diamond DA-40's in climbing, gliding, turning, and straight and level flight. I recieved a mark of 100% for this assignment and thouroughly enjoyed the experience of flying around in light aircraft.
CAD & CAM with CNC Assignment
For the course Design and Manufacturing, students were tasked with machining a part based on an engineering drawing and designing our own complimentary part to fit together. Keeping in mind the constraints of subtractive manufacturing and creating the CAD & CAM in Solidworks, I produced the parts to the left. They received full marks for the quality of machining and having a good fit.
⚙️ Work Experience
UNSW Sydney - Demonstrator
Demonstrator for ENGG2400 Solid Mechanics 1 and MMAN2300 Engineering Mechanics 2. Responsible for leading classes (from 30 to 70+ students) centred on problem solving and mechanics questions. Also responsible for guiding lab classes, and marking exam and assignment submissions.
Helix Resources - Field Assistant
Helix Resources is a geologic exploration company seeking copper in the Cobar Basin. I have assisted with the processing and organisation of various geologic exploration activities. This involved dealing extensively with RC and Diamond Core drilled rock, general field activities in the Cobar Basin and digitising geologic data. I have worked with Helix intermittently over university breaks.
Process Control Services - Warehouse Assistant
PCS is a chemical engineering and process control warehouse. As the warehouse assistant, I conducted various roles in the warehouse, workshop and in admin. This involved dealing with the company database, building and modifying stock, receival, dispatch and storing of goods. Some warehouse skills I have used are:
- Basic hand and power tools
- Soldering
- Drop saw and bench grinder
- Thread tapping
- PVC gluing
📈 Extra Curriculars
MechSoc
MechSoc is UNSW’s student society for the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. The society is financially backed by the university and holds numerous events to bolster student life beyond the classroom. Currently I am the Vice President, previously Secretary and First Year Representative. In 2022 I volunteered to be the Head Coordinator for the society’s First Year Camp. This is our largest annual event aimed at new university students looking to connect with other future engineers in their year and above at a multi-day event.
Energy Breakthrough
In my final years of high school, I competed in the annual energy breakthrough in Maryborough, Victoria. We raced a Human Powered Vehicle (HPV) which we constructed elements of – primarily the shell – for 24 hours. Being fairly new to the competition we found success in the race, rising to 15th place – up from 50th in the previous year. I was a leader in the construction of the vehicle, presented components of the vehicle during scrutineering, and rode in the race.
Football Refereeing
For 5 years I officiated local football matches and reached a level 3 FFA qualification. I have refereed at many levels including Eastern Suburbs first division and at international competitions such as Kanga Cup. While living in Orange, I was a member of the ODFRA (Orange and Districts Football Referees Association) committee as the Junior Vice President. This role acts as a link between junior and senior referees and aims to boost confidence in new referees.
